Storytelling is the oldest form of historical preservation and of self expression.
From The Legend of Gilgamesh and Homer’s Odyssey to the present, it remains an art form around the world.
Lally believes that storytelling has the power to heal and he has seen this at first hand in his ongoing work for Readathon. He is based in the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children, Belfast as their resident storyteller and he brings the magic of stories not just to the patients, but to their families.
He also works with a special needs group on an ongoing basis and has witnessed their confidence grow before him.
Storytelling is an integral part of Irish culture and has the power to build relations across borders. He has worked on various projects that help build cross community relationships, working with diverse groups of adults and children from both communities in Northern Ireland.
